This set of two porcelain plates were made by George Jones & Sons of Crescent Pottery ca 1880. The pattern is hand colored transferware, and features lovely blue and yellow birds, blossoms, branches and a butterfly. One plate is approximately 8 7/8" in diameter while one is about 8 3/4". They have the impressed mark of overlapping GJ with a crescent underneath with & Sons inside, which was first in use around 1873. The pattern number is written in red as 7001. The plates are in very good condition with no damage. There is light wear to the gold trim, some light surface scratches, and a few flakes on the foot. The pattern and colors look vibrant and lovely.
