Offered here is an antique pincushion in the form of a Lady’s shoe.  It is 6” in length, made of medal and is highly embellished with inverted fans around the back of the shoe, fan shape tongue and wide bow with buckle across the vamp.  The pin cushion is a small pillow of pink satin.  At the turn of the 20^th century every woman had a pincushion in her dressing room – accessories were pinned in place and a pincushion was a convenient and attractive place to keep the pins.
