This tiny vintage musical instrument is a novelty "Baby Boomerang De Luxe" or "Miniature Boomerang" miniature diatonic harmonica that dates from the mid 1920s to the early 1930s and presents in its original card box. The harmonica has neither been cleaned nor tested. The box is complete however it is in a delicate condition. The 1927 Australian 2/- or florin coin is pictured to show scale.
History and Origin
The Albert Connection: The Boomerang brand was commissioned b J. Albert & Son, a prominent Sydney-based music warehouse and store run by Frank Albert.
Made in Saxony: They were produced in the Saxony region of Germany—historic heartland of harmonica manufacturing—primarily by the C.A. Seydel Söhne factory in Klingenthal.
Down Under Branding: Albert retailed an entire series of Australian-themed mouth organs (such as the Boomerang, Wallaby, and Kangaroo) starting from the late 1890s well into the mid-20th century.
Design and Features. Albert's System: A marketing and technical term stamped on the casing alongside phrases like "Tangent Tempered Reeds".
Compact Build: Typically featuring a small wooden or red Bakelite comb with metal cover plates, sometimes shaped in a unique boomerang contour or tiny rectangular sizes (often 4 to 10 holes). This example has flashes of red. The pictures refer.
