Original Soviet GSh-6A high-altitude pressure helmet – lower section / lower assembly.

This is an authentic lower part of the Soviet GSh-6A pressurized flight helmet, designed for use with the high-altitude flight equipment worn by Soviet military pilots during the Cold War era.

The GSh-6A was a specialized hermetic helmet developed for high-altitude aviation.

 It was used with Soviet high-altitude pressure suits and was associated with aircraft such as the MiG-21, MiG-23 and MiG-25. 

The helmet formed part of the pilot’s life-support system and was designed to maintain a sealed environment around the pilot’s head in the event of cockpit depressurization. 

The GSh-6A was introduced around the late 1960s and became an iconic piece of Soviet Cold War aviation equipment. 

Complete examples are highly sought after by aviation and military collectors.
