Medieval 14thC French Jeton - King Under Canopy - Philippe VI

Historical Overview:
A genuine 14th-century "King Under Canopy" jeton (calculation token).
These items were used as accounting tools on a counting board (abacus) before
the adoption of Hindu-Arabic numerals.
Key Features:
- Obverse: Depicts a Medieval King
standing beneath a Gothic canopy, imitating the royal gold "Royal
d’or" coinage of the period.
- Reverse: Features a Cross Fleury
with fleur-de-lis terminals, enclosed within a decorative four-lobed
quatrefoil.
- Condition: Excellent
"as-found" condition with a stable uncleaned antique dark
patina. The central design remains clear and well-centred.
- Dimensions: 22mm (Typical for this
era).
