Vintage Italian Capodimonte-style majolica liquor dispenser/barrel with an ornate brass dolphin stand. A distinctive crowned “N” mark is present on the underside of the ceramic barrel. The mark is not visible when the barrel is attached to the stand.

The ceramic barrel is an unusual and highly decorative piece, featuring a traditional majolica-style design and an ornate brass dolphin support. An exact matching barrel form is also listed on eBay known as a tobacco canister/tabac jar bearing the same crowned “N” mark.

Measurements: Approximately 14" tall overall x 6.5" diameter.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. There is one small chip on the inside lip of the top; it is not visible when the top is in place. Please see photos for the condition and details.

Identification: The crowned “N” is associated with Capodimonte and Capodimonte-style Italian ceramics. Because this mark was used by various Italian makers over the years, I am describing the piece as Capodimonte-style/Capodimonte marked rather than attributing it to the original 18th-century Capodimonte factory.
