Listed is this gorgeous highly collectable mid-to-late 20th century Southwestern double owl brooch. This piece features an intricate mosaic channel-inlay design depicting two detailed owls perched side by side on a branch. The artistry on this piece is incredibly charming, as one owl features wide, alert eyes while the second owl is designed to be playfully winking. The masterfully hand-cut inlay is made from warm tan striped tiger cowrie shell with onyx eyes. The back is clearly stamped with the collectable "sTe HAND MADE Sterling" hallmark, which belongs to a highly regarded anonymous Zuni artisan workshop known for premium inlay work. The brooch is in very good vintage condition. The owl on the right side has a very tiny nick above its winking eye that looks like it might have been done during crafting. The sterling silver has a lovely, aged patina, and the original pin back and rolling safety clasp are fully functional. This pin is about 2" x 1.5"
