To 'build in' longevity to our restorations; the CD player mechanism is thoroughly inspected and cleaned including the laser lens, the spindle platter height is adjusted and glued to prevent 'creep', spindle motor bearings lubricated and the mechanism is cleaned and re-lubricated. The draw mechanism gear and belt are replaced. This CD player has had the main Digital & DAC PSU caps replaced and upgraded with audio quality items from that give a noticeable improvement to sound quality and longevity as some of the circuitry is permanently powered. Other Electrolytic capacitors have been tested to ensure they are in spec and those that are not are replaced. The circuit boards are inspected for dry joints and reflowed as required. Switches are cleaned. Finally we clean the fascia and cover to ensure our restorations look as good as they sound. This CDP has been tested with a range of CD's and CDR's including those over 70 mins to ensure that it works above red book standard. Once all this is done our CD players will give you years of service.
Additionally our restored compact disc players always include a tested, correctly rated IEC cord and handbook, you will have everything you need to get up and running - so you can buy with confidence!
Please Note: The photographs show the actual item being sold, I've taken photos from all sides as well as interior shots so please examine these, we love listening to the early Arcam alpha CDP's and this one is no exception! It's a fine sounding and very capable CD player still sounding amazing on our Naim set up. This is a very fine example of British made HIFI, a very capable CDP, that would see off many modern day devices regardless of price.
