For sale is the Playmobil 3575 Go Cart & Driver, a vintage early-1980s U.S. Schaper release. This charming little racing set is new in box, still sealed, and has never been opened.

This set is documented in Axel Hennel’s Playmobil Collector 1974–2009, 3rd Edition, where set 3575 in its original packaging is dated 1980/81 and receives a five-figure rarity rating.

The set features a classic red racing go-cart marked with the number 3, together with its driver wearing a white racing suit with red accents and matching red helmet.

The original U.S. packaging is particularly appealing, retaining the large extended retail display hanger reading “Enter the World of playmobil from Schaper.” The box also features period Schaper advertising for other Playmobil sets and the wonderfully nostalgic “Guaranteed Fun Or Your Money Back” promotion.

Features

Condition

The original box is in excellent vintage condition, particularly considering its age. It shows minor shelf/storage wear, including light edge and corner wear and some additional wear along the bottom box folds, as visible in the photographs.

The original tape seals remain intact and have yellowed with age.

This set has never been opened, so the contents have not been individually inspected. Contents are described according to the information and illustrations on the original sealed packaging.

Axel Hennel’s Playmobil Collector 1974–2009, 3rd Edition dates set 3575 in this packaging to 1980/81. This particular U.S. Schaper package bears a 1983 Schaper Manufacturing Company copyright, which is also visible in the photographs.

Provenance

This set comes from a single-family personal collection rather than leftover retail inventory. It was purchased new by the original owner for her children but never opened. The family’s collection moved with them from Washington, D.C. to South Carolina in 1993, remained stored for decades, and was rediscovered in 2026.

Notes

The five-figure designation cited above refers to the rarity classification used in Axel Hennel’s Playmobil Collector 1974–2009, 3rd Edition. As explained by the catalogue, its rating system describes the rarity of items including their original packaging and is not an appraisal or statement of monetary value.
