FULLY FUNCTION TESTED WITH GUITAR & AMPLIFIER:

This unit was connected to an electric guitar and guitar amplifier and tested in both bypass and Talk Box modes.

• With the Talk Box switched OFF/bypassed, the guitar signal passed normally through the MXR’s OUTPUT and played through the guitar amplifier.

• With the Talk Box switched ON, the guitar amplifier signal was muted as designed and the guitar sound was produced clearly through the Talk Box tube.

• The Volume, Tone and Gain controls are provided for adjusting the Talk Box sound.

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ ABOUT HOW THIS TALK BOX OPERATES:

When the M222 Talk Box is engaged, sound is not supposed to continue coming through your guitar amplifier. The guitar signal is instead routed through the Talk Box’s built-in amplifier/driver and comes out through the clear tube. This is normal operation and is not an output malfunction. MXR specifically designed the M222 with its own internal amplifier and speaker driver.

For the traditional amplified “talking guitar” effect, the player places the tube at the corner of the mouth and shapes the sound with their mouth while playing. A vocal microphone positioned nearby picks up the resulting sound and sends it through a PA or other vocal amplification system. A microphone/PA is not included with this listing.

The Talk Box can also be heard directly through the tube for practice without a microphone/PA.
