ANTIQUE ENGLISH STERLING SILVER CARD / VISITING CARD CASE – FULLY HALLMARKED – W.H.S – ORNATE HAND-ENGRAVED FLORAL DESIGN

A truly beautiful antique English sterling silver card case, featuring exceptionally detailed floral and scrolling foliate decoration across virtually the entire exterior.

This is a particularly attractive example of traditional English silverwork, with an elaborate deeply engraved floral and foliate pattern incorporating flowers, leaves and scrolling motifs. The workmanship is extremely fine, and the decoration remains wonderfully crisp and clearly defined.

The case also features shaped unengraved cartouche panels, traditionally intended for the owner’s initials or monogram.

The case carries a clear set of British silver hallmarks, including the maker’s mark:

along with the other assay/hallmark symbols clearly visible in the close-up photographs.
