A macro lens is used in photography to shoot small objects close-up without using a specialized macro lens (see Macro photography). Macro lenses work like a magnifying glass or reading glasses, bringing the image closer to the main lens .

Positive attachment lens:

Increases the relative aperture of the system (slightly).

Reduces the minimum focusing distance of the lens.

Increases the shooting scale with a constant lens extension.

Reduces the distance to the sharply imaged object with a constant lens extension.

Attachment lens (macro lens with a positive focal length, English close-up filter) is an additional device for the lens that changes the value of its focal length (image angle) . It is enclosed in a frame and is put directly on the lens, usually screwed on like a light filter. A positive lens reduces the focal length (increases the angle of the image), and a negative lens increases it (decreases the angle of the image). The most common are ordinary single-lens, spherical macro lenses without enlightenment, but there are also much more expensive achromatic - two-lens, with enlightenment, and aspherical.
