The Premier Album of Scarborough - Extremely Rare.

Concertina Book of Views, First Edition, Large Format, 1st Issue.

Publisher; John S. McCann of Liverpool, No Date, Circa 1880.

Original embossed stamped red cloth, lettered in gilt with black & red embossed decorated border.

This is the first appearance of these views issued in the large format of 10" x 7" with 60 sepia views two of which are panoramic. The Spa & South Bay, covering three panels & South Cliff Tramway covering six panels.

In 1900 a smaller edition, (8" x 6"), was issued as; The New Album of Scarborough containing 50 views.

Both of these titles are Scarce & difficult to come by in any condition but the large format version is particularity Rare. There are no available copies on the Internet at the time of listing.

Lovely clean, bright copy.

 

Approximate dimensions; 25 x 17.5 cm. 

Condition; Very Good Antiquarian condition with wear to inner spine but a simple restoration project.
