SERIES SUMMARY

Ronald Howard dons the famous deerstalker as Sherlock Holmes, the brilliant consulting detective whose remarkable powers of observation and deduction repeatedly place him against London's most cunning criminals.

At his side is his loyal friend and companion Dr. John H. Watson, played by Howard Marion-Crawford. Together they investigate murders, disappearances, thefts, strange threats, mysterious visitors, secret identities, elaborate schemes, and seemingly impossible crimes.

Inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard, played by Archie Duncan, frequently becomes involved in their investigations. Although Lestrade may occasionally find Holmes' unconventional methods frustrating, Holmes inevitably notices the tiny details and overlooked clues that lead him toward the truth.

The series combines classic Victorian detective atmosphere with fast-moving half-hour mysteries. Foggy streets, suspicious mansions, hidden motives, strange clues, dangerous criminals, and Holmes' celebrated deductions give each adventure the unmistakable flavor of Sherlock Holmes.

While inspired by the characters and world created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, many episodes feature original mysteries written specifically for television, allowing Holmes and Watson to encounter an entirely new collection of cases.
