1922 Vassar Theater Shakespeare Catherine ~ Elizabeth Mohn Drama Beauty
You are bidding on a
vintage image from my collection.
an original vintage photo
a young actress mid-performance in a flowing medieval-style gown and veiled headdress, one hand pressed to her heart in a moment of dramatic emotion, a strand of pearls draped at her waist and a sheer trailing scarf pooling at her feet.
Inscribed on the back, "3rd's Hall Play, Miss Elizabeth E. Mohn as Catherine," this photograph comes from a 1922 Vassar College theatrical production and was kept in the personal album of Elizabeth Barnes Redding, a classmate of the era; the costume style suggests a Renaissance-set drama, possibly Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, though the exact production has not been confirmed.
