The M-TAC brand has developed and released a new, improved concept of a soldier's personal protection system - M-TAC GORGET COMPATIBLE WITH ACTIVE HEADPHONES 1 PROTECTION CLASS ELITE. The product is a compact removable module that provides all-round anti-fragmentation protection for the neck and upper back of a soldier.

This gorget model is designed specifically for use with active headphones. Its design simultaneously increases comfort when performing combat missions (using active headphones), and effectively protects the upper back and neck from ricochets and fragments. Due to the change in the shape of the shoulder part (in relation to previous generations), this gorget can be combined with M-TAC SHOULDER PROTECTION WITH BALLISTIC PACKAGES 1 PROTECTION CLASS ERGONOMIC (PAIR), while not restricting movement during active physical exertion.

M-TAC CHOKER COMPATIBLE WITH ACTIVE EARMUFFS CLASS 1 ELITE PROTECTION consists of two elements with Velcro fasteners. The front section is designed to protect the neck from the front, and the shoulder section provides protection for the shoulders, trapezium and the back of the neck.

The neck section is attached to the Molle interface of the CUIRASS QRS and CUIRASS ELITE plate carrier chest panel, and the rear section is attached to the shoulder part of the plate carrier using slings with sewn-in Velcro fasteners. The module is designed to provide continuous ballistic coverage from the upper cut of the chest plate to the back, while capturing additional area on the sides of the shoulder straps.

Considerable efforts of the designers were aimed at giving the neck the most ergonomic shape for comfortable operation. This design does not conflict with other elements of equipment and provides a sufficient level of freedom when moving the head, even with a helmet. Also, special attention was paid to the anatomical shape and low weight of the product when developing the gorget. Thanks to this, the gorget allows you to maintain mobility and ergonomics of the entire set of equipment.

If necessary, you can use only the shoulder section of the module, and the neck protection can be fixed in a folded form in front of the plate carrier. If necessary, the front element of the gorget can be removed for a more convenient insertion of weapons, but in this case it will cease to perform the protective functions of the front of the neck.

The module is made of Cordura 500D - a super-strong fabric that is resistant to abrasion and high loads. A damping mesh is used on the inside of the shoulder part, which reduces the likelihood of pressure and provides good ventilation.

The gorget is equipped with a ballistic package designed to protect against ricochets and fragments. Made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and complies with STANAG 2920 with a V-50 fragmentation resistance index of about 614.5 m/s.

To understand the analogy with bulletproof resistance, an armor package with a similar composition corresponds to the 1st class (9x18APS, 9x19 Luger) according to DSTU 8782:2018. (Class 1 is understood as an equivalent in composition, which is tested on standard samples of 400x400mm. Therefore, the injury caused by the obstacle may differ on samples of smaller size and shape.)
