Angeboten wird eine große historische Erinnerungs- bzw. Wandplakette zum Kölner Domfest 1948 anlässlich von 700 Jahren seit der Grundsteinlegung des Kölner Doms im Jahr 1248.
Die Vorderseite zeigt eine historische Ansicht von Köln mit dem Dom und trägt die Umschrift „1248 DOMFEST zu KÖLN 1948“. Aufgrund ihres Durchmessers von etwa 140 mm ist das Stück eher als dekorative Wand- bzw. Erinnerungsplakette denn als klassische Medaille einzuordnen.
Eine sichere Zuordnung des Herstellers anhand der rückseitigen Marke ist nicht möglich. Die Materialangabe ist ebenfalls eine Einschätzung anhand von Oberfläche, Rückseite und Gewicht.

Die Plakette ist altersgemäß gut erhalten und zeigt Oberflächen-, Kontakt- und Randspuren. Die helle Rückseite weist materialtypische Poren, Verfärbungen und Gebrauchsspuren auf.

Offered is a large historical commemorative wall plaque relating to the Cologne Cathedral Festival of 1948, marking 700 years since the foundation stone of Cologne Cathedral was laid in 1248.
The front depicts a historical view of Cologne with the cathedral and bears the inscription “1248 DOMFEST zu KÖLN 1948”. With a diameter of approximately 140 mm, this piece is best described as a decorative wall or commemorative plaque rather than a conventional medal.
The manufacturer cannot be reliably identified from the mark on the reverse. The material description is also an assessment based on the visible surface, reverse and weight.
Of particular interest is the surviving period cardboard box. Its lid bears a faded stamp showing a stylised image of Cologne Cathedral together with the wording “DOM PLAKETTE 1948”.
Also included is a small brass-coloured Cologne Cathedral pin bearing the inscription “700 JAHR KÖLNER DOM 1248–1948”. The soldered pin attachment is visible on the reverse.
