A very appealing pair of genuine period British tobacco advertising pieces, particularly suited to collectors of Craven A, Carreras, Capstan, W.D. & H.O. Wills, cigarette tins and early tobacconiana.
Original rectangular red metal cigarette tin for:
CRAVEN “A” – Cork Tipped Virginia Cigarettes
Features the well-known black cat trademark above the Craven “A” oval logo.
The reverse is printed:
Craven “A” was introduced by Carreras in 1921 and became particularly associated with its cork-tipped cigarettes and black cat branding.
Original vintage cardboard cigarette package for:
CAPSTAN – Navy Cut Cigarettes – Medium Strength
Marked for 50 Capstan Cigarettes.
Manufactured by W.D. & H.O. Wills, one of Britain's best-known historic tobacco manufacturers.
Side wording includes:
“Every genuine package of ‘Capstan’ (Navy Cut) Cigarettes has the Signature thus: W.D. & H.O. Wills”
and
“Manufactured from carefully selected tobaccos.”
The original sliding inner cardboard tray is present.
