This cap is an authentic antique piece being sold **AS-IS for parts, restoration, or display**. Please review all photos and the specific flaws detailed below:

* **Crown & Wire Frame:** The internal wire stiffener has pushed through/separated along the upper top rim/seam in multiple spots and is currently exposed.

* **Wool Body & Top:** There is active moth damage, including a through-hole on the top crown near the rim (see close-up photos), along with surface grazing and general dust/soiling consistent with age.

* **Piping:** The red wool piping along the top crown exhibits heavy wear, fraying, and loss where the wire has pushed through.

* **Interior Liner & Sweatband:** The interior oilcloth/fabric lining shows heavy age, discoloration, and fraying around the perimeter. The leather sweatband has tears and is partially detached/separated along the front brow section.

* **Visor & Cockades:** Both metal cockades are intact and firmly attached. The black visor shows typical light surface scuffs and edge wear but remains structurally intact.
