You will receive one rare Pink Petalite tumblestone measuring approx. 25-35mm.
GEOLOGY & HISTORY: Pink Petalite, sometimes known as Castorite, is a particularly rare crystal, with the most coveted, premium pink specimens sourced from the Erongo Mountains in Namibia, as well as deposits found in Brazil and South Africa. It is a lithium aluminium phyllosilicate mineral that ranges in colour from an ultra-pale, translucent baby pink to a soft lavender-pink, often showing a pearly or vitreous lustre when polished. A moderately durable stone, it has perfect cleavage in one direction, meaning it splits easily like a leaf or petal (giving it its name, from the Greek petalon).
Pink Petalite forms in pegmatites (large, coarse-grained igneous rocks), and these rocks are typically rich in lithium and other rare elements, such as beryllium and aluminium, which are essential for the formation of Petalite. The mineral forms when these elements combine under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, leading to the growth of large crystals. Like many other minerals in pegmatites, Petalite forms as the molten rock cools slowly over long periods of time, allowing for the crystallization of larger, more distinct crystals.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES: Pink Petalite sometimes referred to as the “Stone of Angels” is a stone of angelic connection, believed to lift one’s awareness to connect with spirit guides or angelic realms. It is also said to connect to the Heart Chakra, resonating with the energy of unconditional love, helping to open the heart to empathy, forgiveness, and self-compassion. Furthermore, with its lithium content, it is physically and metaphysically associated with soothing a hyperactive mind and reducing anxiety.
