Vintage Pentrex Washington Centennial Steam railroad VHS featuring Southern Pacific 4-8-4 steam locomotive No. 4449, the famous streamlined Daylight locomotive.

Filmed during Washington State's 1989 Centennial celebration, this program follows SP 4449 on a special passenger excursion through the Pacific Northwest. The train traveled from Seattle to Wenatchee over Burlington Northern tracks, with footage of the locomotive operating through spectacular winter scenery.

Highlights include SP 4449 pulling a passenger consist that included four Tour Alaska dome cars and footage between Wenatchee and Leavenworth, where cold temperatures and snow created an especially dramatic setting for the Daylight. The program also includes scenes of Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad 2-8-2 steam locomotive No. 5 operating on special excursions.
