Hi
Everyone,
I am
listing my E92 M3 for sale. I purchased this to swap everything into my E91
wagon. Unfortunately, it is too big of a project for me to tackle at the
moment.
Car Basics:
2008 BMW M3
Coupe
WBSWD93598PY42227
Alpine
white exterior / Black interior
Sunroof
191K miles
6MT
$17,000
Clean title
The Good:
Recent
receipts totaling over $42K in the past 12K miles including:
- Brand new OEM S65 long block
from BMW
- Rod bearings done with OE
bearings
- OEM valve covers & gaskets
- OEM Vanos gears
- Mporium vanos gear covers
- Etc.
New clutch/flywheel
OEM 359M
Competition wheels
The Bad:
- Check engine light is on as the
motor was not timed correctly when the motor was reinstalled in the car.
The timing chain has stretched, so the timing chain will need to be
replaced and retimed.
- Those familiar with BMWs will
note there is a tamper dot on the odometer. The gauge cluster was replaced
at some point and the tamper dot came on. As far as I know and can tell,
the mileage is accurate. The Carfax shows consistent mileage, is not TMU
according to the DMV and given the motor rebuild 12K miles ago, this
wasn't a concern for me when I bought the car.
- Red brake light is on due to
driver side front sensor plug
- TPMS light is on as there are
two versions the E92 used - the wheels have TMPS sensors as it the wheels
came from an LCI car.
- Headlights are functional, but
are not adaptive.
- 3 accidents on Carfax: 2 minors
and 1 minor/moderate
The Ugly:
- Front and rear bumpers have seen
some parking lot bumps - doesn't affect anything, but just ugly.
- Driver side front fender has a
hairline crack on top and where it meets the bumper. Very common as the
e92 fenders are plastic.
- Sunroof cover liner is sagging
- Driver seat has a bit of bolster
wear
- Aftermarket headunit compatible
with Apple Carplay, but sometimes disconnects
- Some dings and dents around the
car
This is the
cheapest clean title E92 M3 I can find and it is for a reason. I have listed
all the flaws I know of and have priced it accordingly. This is the perfect
candidate for anyone looking to S65 + 6MT swap their car. Once the motor is
retimed, you will have a completely refreshed engine with a litany of new OEM
parts - not something you will get with any other donor car.
