Antique Georgian miniature sewing needle or pin box, which has been produced from red Moroccan leather covered wood box, mounted with ormolu flower plaque to the front. The box is lined in green paper, with hook fastening to the front.
AGE
Early 19th centry, circa 1820.
SIZE
The box measures 7cm (2¾") wide 4cm (1½") deep and 3cm (1") high.
CONDITION
The box is in a good condition for considerable age, although the original gilt loop to close the lid with the hook to the front, is missing. The is wear to the leather, especially to the front (hook area), lid and corners.
