The book contains the memoirs of people who were directly confronted with the unbridled, raging atom that escaped from the destroyed reactor of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. All of them were involved in the cleanup of an accident of planetary scale, comparable in magnitude to the explosion of Mount Vesuvius and the deaths of the inhabitants of Pompeii, or something close to that. Humanity will remember this for decades, if not centuries, to come.
The condition is very good. There may be signs of use in the form of scuffs.
