Wheel raised with slab additions & Textured glaze finish.
With his love of primary colours the vase is finished in Yellow, Red & Blue.
Signed to base with 21\C pattern mark.
This is a Rare Early Piece with an unpainted flat base as opposed to later pieces that had raised bases with white glazed infill.

Giovanni De Simone was born in 1930 in Palermo, Sicily opening his ceramic studio in Polarmo in the 1960's. He developed an appreciation for the cubist movement and was influenced by artists such as Klee, Ledger, Matisse, and Picasso. After his death in 1991 his daughters Susanna and Margherita continued to operate as La Fabbrica della Ceramica.
