ITEM DESCRIPTION – Jose Rubio is Spain's most highly regarded pipe maker who has been making high grade pipes for over 35-years. He maintains a very low annual production, typically crafting no more than 110 pipes per year which certainly makes his creations highly sought after by collectors. —making his work highly sought after by collectors. Rubio is widely celebrated for his meticulous sandblasting techniques. He only uses straight-grain briar blocks and spends as much as 10 to 12 hours blasting a single pipe. As you can see by this beautiful Rubio thick bulldog shaped pipe, he knows how to produce flawless ring grain sandblasting, and the upper third of the bowl on this pipe also shows that he knows how to highlight the overall presentation of his pipes. This Rubio has been smoked only a few times and has a tobacco chamber that is still mostly bare wood. And check out the olive green and black swirl Cumberland stem. It was made for both comfort and beauty.
