Here’s your chance to own a piece of one of a kind history with this Authentic Willie Mays signed baseball and an August 21, 1950 dinner menu from The Commodore Vanderbilt restaurant at the Hotel Commodore in New York City, signed by approximately 31+ members of the 1950 New York Giants.
The Hotel Commodore (adjacent to Grand Central Terminal, later redeveloped as the Grand Hyatt New York) was a well-known lodging location for Major League teams during this era.
The menu is dated Aug. 21, 1950 and is signed in pencil throughout by members of the team, coaches and even a Hall of Fame Announcer. Notable signatures include:
• Monte Irvin
• Leo Durocher (Manager)
• Bobby Thomson
• Hank Thompson
• Ernie Harwell ( Hall of Fame Announcer)
• Tookie Gilbert
• Eddie Stanky
• Al Dark
• Whitey Lockman
• Don Mueller
• Bill Rigney
• Roy Weatherly
• Sam Calderone
• Jack Lohrke
• Jack Maguire
• Sal Yvars
• Rudy Rufer
• Mike McCormick
• Larry Jansen
• Sal Maggie
• Sheldon Jones
• Dave Kowloon
• Jim Hearn
• Clint Hartung
• Monty Kennedy
• Jack Kramer
• Andy Hansen
• George Spencer
• Frank Shellenback (Coach)
• Fred Fitzsimmons (Coach)
There are 1, possibly 2 other autographs that have yet to be identified on the menu. It is my opinion one could possibly be Spider Jorgensen but due to the location of the signature it’s hard to confirm.
NOTE: Willie Mays officially joined the team the next season.
(Please review photos carefully for full signature details.)
The piece is an original period hotel menu, not a reproduction. Signatures appear consistent with the era and are written in graphite pencil, common for clubhouse and team-signed items of this period.

It presents beautifully and offers outstanding historical display appeal, combining mid-century New York hotel ephemera with a complete 1950 Giants team signing.
A scarce and compelling multi-signed team piece from a historic New York setting.
