Yoruba Singers – Basa Bongo / Black Pepper
7″ Vinyl Single – UK Edition – 2023 – Soundway Records [SI-SNDW-7027 / Barcode: 5060571362360]
A vibrant slice of Caribbean roots and rhythm, this 2023 reissue from Soundway Records brings together two standout tracks from Guyana’s Yoruba Singers. Originally recorded in Barbados and beloved across South America and the Caribbean, Basa Bongo and Black Pepper blend Afro-Caribbean percussion, soulful vocals, and hypnotic grooves. Pressed on 7″ stereo vinyl and housed in a minimalist sleeve, this edition revives the group’s early ’80s underground legacy with audiophile clarity.
