This is an original oil painting, signed (WP) and titled / identified on back, by Willard J. Page (1885-1958). This colorful landscape is painted on masonite board, I think, and has a lightweight wood frame with a gilt finish. 4" wide x 4" long. It is stamped on the back, 'Original Oil Paintings Willard J. Page Studio, Boulder, Colo.'

Willard Page and his wife, Ethel, went on the road in the early 1900's with a marketing scheme that blended his artistry and passion for capturing the beauty of Western America. The duo found work traveling and performing with the Redpath-Horner Lyceum. Ethel played piano and sang ballads while Willard sketched, painted and lectured on a stage. He worked so quickly that he was called a 'Lighting Artist.' He was quite popular and entertaining. Later the couple moved to Boulder, CO where Willard painted small landscapes to sell to tourists. 

He built a large easel where he could paint in assembly-line style, quickly producing small souvenir paintings that would fit in a suitcase. Willard and Ethel also toured New Mexico, Arizona, and California with a homemade RV, painting and selling to tourists all the way
