Selling a classic Canon Canonet QL17 G-III rangefinder camera. This unit has been dry tested only and is being sold with film results untested, requiring some attention to the aperture ring and a minor lens cleaning. Please see the detailed condition report below before bidding or purchasing.
Mechanical Condition:
Shutter fires correctly at various speeds.
Lens blades are clean and move freely.
The self-timer is fully functional.
Please Note: The aperture ring is quite stiff and firm to rotate, which will likely require a service or lubrication to smoothen out.
Electrical Condition:
Electronics are unconfirmed and untested as I do not have the correct battery on hand.
The battery compartment is mostly clean, though there is a small amount of light corrosion on the terminal contacts that may need a quick clean.
Optical Condition:
The viewfinder is mostly clean and clear with just a small amount of typical dust present.
Please Note: There appears to be a minor amount of internal fungus on the lens elements. I cannot confirm 100%, but I have done my best to capture this clearly in the listing photos.
Cosmetic Condition:
The camera body is in pretty good cosmetic shape for its age.
Shows minor scuffs and marks from general use, but there is no major structural damage or dents.
The light seals look good and intact—they may have potentially been replaced by a previous owner in the past.
Comes with the attached carry strap.
Not included: Does not come with a lens cap.
This is a fantastic candidate for a quick restoration or service given its strong mechanical bones. It is being sold strictly as-is, dry tested only, with film testing unconfirmed. Please check all photos carefully as they form part of the description.
