EDWARDIAN CAST BRASS BOOKENDS IN THE FORM OF SPANIELS MARKED VERSO PAT APPLIED FOR CIRC. 1900.

A pair of heavy cast, solid brass Edwardian bookends in the form of spaniel heads dating to Circ. 1900, featuring detailed canine profiles with a distinct, naturally aged patina. Each bookend features the incised word "SPANIEL" on the front base. Verso bears the cast period stamp "REG APPLIED FOR," many Edwardian manufacturer’s sought immediate British design protection before a permanent registration number was issued. This specific mark strongly supports a West Midlands origin, likely from a prominent Birmingham foundry producing fine decorative brassware during the early part of the 20th century.

Good overall condition, rust marks to the base screws and baize losses to the base, original condition commensurate with age and wear.
