Steering wheel with horn flashing ring and emblem
Suitable for the late 170s W136, post-war models
- Steering wheel: Original old steering wheel, steering column mount 21.5 mm. No cracks or other damage before painting in the original ivory color. The grooves are not worn, as can be clearly seen in the pictures. The visible aluminum areas were polished by hand, the recesses, as delivered back then, were painted in black and the back in ivory.
- The horn flashing ring has been re-chromed. Originally not chrome-plated, but therefore easier to clean and of higher quality.
- The ivory emblem is new, without errors. Plastic version for the later W136 models, the earlier ones had enamel emblems, check out my shop, one made of enamel is in stock. Black enamel, also with flashing window on request.

The quality levels:
Restored steering wheel: Old plastic, mostly cracked, has been refurbished. After a good job, a nice steering wheel.
Advantage: cheapest price.
Disadvantage: The plastic shrinks further when exposed to sunlight, causing cracks
go on again.
Reproduction: Reproductions mostly produced in the Far East.
Advantage: low price, new plastic that won't crack.
Disadvantage: Deviations in shape and color, sometimes no operating license.
NOS steering wheels: old stock items from Mercedes Benz.
Advantage: Old new product, so no deviations from the original steering wheel.
An investment with added value.
Disadvantage: High purchase price because it is very rare.
Used polished
Steering wheels: Old goods in good condition, usually due to longer storage and selection
Advantage: Original old goods in very good condition, no tearing, cheaper than NOS
Disadvantage: Possibly slight signs of wear
Plastic re-cast: The old plastic was completely removed and replaced with new one. Through this
