Pre territorial items from early Laramie are extraordinarily rare with only 2 extant covers known. This check has the added enhancement of being closely linked with the building of the transcontinental railroad. The writer, Miller, was the boss of a crew constructing the graded bed of the railroad ahead of the tracks being installed. Miller was making a cash draw of $2000 endorsing this check to his bankers Kountze Bros out of Cheyenne Dakota Territory, which would be a very rare check in its own right prior to the Laramie City manuscript being added. A rare opportunity for the right collector and worthy of the finest Wyoming, Dakota or transcontinental railroad collection
