Good antique condition with age-related wear. Posted with a King George V ½d green stamp and 1915 postmark. Some corner and edge wear, surface marks, ink marks and light soiling consistent with age. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
Original antique illustrated nursery rhyme postcard featuring "Old Mother Hubbard", beautifully illustrated by Ethel Parkinson and published by Faulkner & Co. Ltd., Series 1088.
The charming artwork depicts Old Mother Hubbard opening the cupboard while her faithful little dog waits patiently, accompanied by the well-known nursery rhyme:
"Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard
To get her poor dog a bone..."
The reverse bears a handwritten message, a King George V ½d green stamp, and a 1915 postmark, adding to its period appeal.
A lovely postcard for collectors of nursery rhyme illustrations, children's artwork, Ethel Parkinson postcards, dogs, and early 20th-century greetings cards.
