For your consideration: An Antiquarian piece of sheet music titled "Il Bacio" (The Kiss), subtitled as a Valzer brillante (brilliant waltz). It was composed by the Italian conductor and composer Luigi Arditi with Italian lyrics written by Gottardo Aldighieri.
Originally composed in 1860, "Il Bacio" became Arditi's most famous vocal waltz and a standard showcase piece for coloratura sopranos worldwide.
The text on the front cover notes it was "Cantato da M.lla Piccolomini" (sung by Mademoiselle Marietta Piccolomini), a celebrated Italian operatic soprano.
This specific edition was printed by G. Ricordi & Co. a prominent music publishing house based in Milan, Italy, with international branches listed at the bottom (Rome, Naples, Palermo, Paris, London, and New York).
There is a prominent purple dealer stamp for "P. (Paul) Pinch, Electrical and Radio Engineer, 64 High Street, Totnes," indicating this copy was imported and sold through a local music shop in Devon, England.
