Weather robot rides the skies -- Los Angeles, Calif. -- Consisting of a tiny barograph, thermograph, hydrograph, a clockwork mechanism and a midget radio transmitter which broadcasts the recordings at regular intervals during its balloon flight high above the earth, this radio sonde, shown here being examined by L.H. Daingerfield, Los Angeles Weather Bureau chief, is the latest addition to the bureau's equipment (California) Photo measures 7 x 9 inches. Photo Is dated 1939.
