Quarter plate ambrotype of a family of five, this is a reversible image, equally viewable from both sides and within a case with double doors. A very nice, well-posed image with a scenic backdrop. Interestingly, the backdrop was not big enough to cover the entire field of view, and blank areas are present outside its borders. The image is in excellent condition, the case is complete but both doors are separated from the main body that holds the image plate. Matthew Brady images are known to be found in this style of case, however this one is unmarked. Cool family portrait, something a little different.
