Description:

 This is a beautiful vintage Japanese clay bell (known as Dorei in Japan) featuring the fearsome yet protective face of Namahage, the traditional folklore demon/ogre.

The back of the bell is engraved with the Japanese characters "秋田" (Akita) and "なまはげ" (Namahage), representing its origin from Akita Prefecture in northern Japan. This folk art piece is hand-painted in deep green with striking red, gold, and white accents, and comes with its original red hanging cord.
