MID CENTURY MODERNIST
STERLING SILVER CUFFLINKS
NORWEGIAN MAKER
A really interesting & unique1970s pair
of Modernist handmade Designer
silver cufflinks.
The head of the cufflinks are stamped with
the
jewellers unique symbol that looks to
me like a Norwegian or Danish maker
perhaps but
I haven’t found a
reference for the mark.
Beneath this symbol is also stamped
925 for sterling silver grade.
The fittings are also stamped either
BEO – 800
or
GEO - 800
800 should be the grade of silver
used in the fitting section but the
GEO which I now think it is could
Be for Georg Jensen – if not then
I don’t know who else either BEO
or GEO stands for.
The front face of these stylish cufflinks
are decorated with four short circular rods
of silver protruding from the flat face
which has been blacken immediately
surrounding these prominent tubes
to emphasise the design.
Overall a unique and masculine pair of vintage
Retro Modernist Designer Cufflinks.
CONDITION
In very good original condition showing minor
signs of age and use.
The close up photos show a slight
tarnishing which I didn’t clean off
but the blackened areas are part
of the design.
The cuff fittings are as tight and strong
as the day they were made.
One of them is at a slightly different
angle to the other one but this won't
affect their wearability.
Handmade items usually have their
own idiosyncrasies
