This small (4 5/16" long x 1 1/2" tall) handcrafted oval, lidded Shaker-style box was made by Frye's Measure Mill in Wilton, New Hampshire. The bottom inside of the box is stamped/imprinted with these words: "Old Time Wooden Ware" Frye's Measure Mill Wilton NH . Although Frye's Measure Mill was established in 1858 (it is the last operating water-powered measure mill in the US), this Shaker-style box dates from the 20th century sometime, probably between the 1970s and 1990s. The overlapping swallowtail joints are secured with small brass nails. The inset wooden top and bottom are held in place with steel pins.
