Operation Instructions and Cautions
1.To avoid losses, please pay attention to the following matters when installing our power steering pump:
2.Clean the pipeline: Before installation, drain and clean the old oil in the hydraulic pipeline of the power steering system. Then carefully check and clean the inlet and outlet joints and the oil tank, so as to prevent impurities and metal scraps in the pipeline from entering the pump, causing oil leakage, abnormal noise and even damage.
During installation, the operation should be standardized. It is forbidden to knock on the pump with hammers or other tools. At the same time, sufficient power steering oil should be injected into the pump to avoid the internal wear and abnormal noise.
3.Adjust the tension: The tension of the pulley belt of the power steering pump should be moderate. Excessive tension will exacerbate the abnormal wear of the pump, resulting in abnormal noise and even damage.
4.Adjust the oil tube: Adjust the position of high- and low-pressure oil tubes. Loose oil tubes will make abnormal noise.
Fluids replacement: When replacing the power steering pump, the exclusive steering fluids must be replaced meanwhile. Unclean fluids will cause the slide valve inside the pump to jam, resulting in having no power or heavy steering. When injecting fluids, they must be filtered by the strainer on the steering oil tank. It is forbidden to directly inject fluids into the steering oil tank without filtration.
5.Exhaust the air: After the power steering pump is installed, the air in the system should be exhausted and sufficient oil should be injected into the oil tank. The oil, reduced in the oil tank because of air exhaust after the engine runs, should be supplemented in time, so as to avoid the abnormal noise from the pump.
6.Regular maintenance: Only the steering oil specified by the power steering system can be used for the maintenance of the steering system. The maintenance of the power steering system and the engine should be synchronized; otherwise the service life of the pump will be affected.
