French Limoges Condense Milk Jar w Lid Underplate J Pouyat Pink Roses w Ribbons

Description

Gorgeous antique French Limoges porcelain condensed milk or jam jar with lid and under plate. The bottom of the jar has a purposeful hole used to push up can or jar when inserted into the jar. These were used in the Victorian era to keep unsightly jars and cans hidden but still used on a formal table setting. The plate is 7.5". The jar is 4" tall with 3.5" wide rim. Gorgeous pattern with pink roses, blue ribbon, gold trim and gold daubs on the under plate with indentation to hold the jar perfectly. Good clean condition. The underside of the lid does have a chip. Not visible when lid is in place. See images.
