Here is an MTH 20-80008A O Gauge Santa Fe 2-10-0 Russian Decapod Steam Engine w/PS2 This 3-Rail engine features a die-cast boiler and tender body, Pittman flywheel motor, remote controlled Proto-Coupler, 3 Rail/2 Rail conversion system, synchronized puffing ProtoSmoke system, operating tender back-up light, constant voltage headlight, firebox glow, engineer and fireman figures, die-cast tender truck sides, a real coal load, decorative metal whistle and operating marker lights.
Introduced in the late 19th century, the 2-10-0 was first unveiled in North America for the Lehigh Valley Railroad on the East Coast. The 2-10-0 notation would catch on quickly, and would soon before commissioned in rail-yards all over the world for their versatility, and powered axels making them a powerful locomotive despite drawbacks with the firebox and running at low speeds. These models would run well into the mid-20th century before eventually making their way from a running status to a preservation state. Today a handful of these “Decapods” can be found in museums!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. Due to the date of manufacture, the buyer may need to replace the battery. This item displays light scratches and paint imperfections across the body and underframe. The handrails on the rear of the cab are slightly bent out of shape. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The wheels and rolling pickups show signs of average use. The original box is included. The instruction manual is not included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Excellent.
