Hand-Book to the Carnivora - Part 1 Cats Civets Mungooses. 
 A seminal 19th-century zoological text written by English naturalist Richard Lydekker, 
catalogs and describes the anatomy, taxonomy, and habits of the feline and viverrid families. 

This is the 1896 edition published as part of the Lloyd’s Natural History series, 
Cloth covered hardback bound with gilt title on the spine, 
it features a number of coloured plates displaying many examples, 
from the African lion to the Egyptian mungoose. 

 Volume is in good condition, fading to the spine as is common, 
foxing to the end papers, but otherwise very good, 
all as shown in the pictures.
