Geoghegan won the 1966 Australian touring car championship and finished 2nd in 1965 driving his 65 Total Team Mustang.

Geoghegan had an amazing career with five championships, one Bathurst and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999.

“Big Pete’s” 65 Mustang had an exceptionally successful racing career in Australia. According to detailed historical records, in its competitive life the car:

• Started in 74 races overall

• Won 68 of those races, giving it an astonishing win rate of over 90 % before it was replaced by a newer Mustang in 1967.

The Mustang’s win-rate is extraordinary in Australian motorsport history, nothing comes close.
