An antique Indian enclosed Hindu home shrine finished in a distressed sapphire blue over turquoise from a previous incarnation. Castellated decoration to the top and bottom pelmets. Raised deity platform, Mughal arched decoration to the side panels. 

This is an authentic old Hindu shrine with associated wear from decades of ritual worship.

Early 20th c.

This sacred home shrine comes from Rajasthan. Typically, shrines like this would have graced a high caste Brahmin home, and been the focal point of daily puja, a prayer ritual performed to honour and worship one or more deities. 

This particular example is finished in a distressed sapphire blue over turquoise colour palette, with castellated top and bottom pelmets,  and hand-carved side panels decorating the enclosed raiseddeity platform.
