This charming display comes from a remarkable collection of vintage Erzgebirge wooden miniatures recently acquired from a single estate. The collection includes Easter rabbit villages, school scenes, angel orchestras, candle holders, and other folk-art displays produced in East Germany during the German Democratic Republic era. Each set is being offered separately, providing collectors the opportunity to acquire individual scenes or assemble a larger display from this carefully curated collection.

Offered here is a delightful 17-piece Easter Rabbit Village produced by VEB Holzwaren Gahlenz and marketed under the Expertic brand in the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany).  Harder to find size; the larger rabbit figures measure approximately 4 inches tall and are beautifully hand-painted in the colorful folk-art style for which Erzgebirge wooden miniatures are known.

This whimsical Easter workshop scene includes rabbits carrying trays of decorated eggs, seated egg painters, hikers with baskets and walking sticks, a balance scale, easel, mounted display egg, and additional workshop accessories. Displayed together, the figures create a lively Easter village filled with charm and character.

Several pieces retain their original Gahlenz / Expertic labels, helping to identify the maker and East German origin. The set displays beautifully and would make a wonderful addition to an Erzgebirge collection, Easter display, German folk-art collection, or seasonal holiday décor.

Condition is excellent overall. One base shows very minor paint loss and one of the strings on scale is slightly tipped, but otherwise the figures retain bright original colors and present beautifully. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
