This delightful orchestra comes from a remarkable collection of vintage Erzgebirge wooden miniatures recently acquired from a single curated estate. The collection includes Easter rabbit villages, school scenes, angel orchestras, candle holders, and other folk-art displays produced in the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany).  Several companion sets from the collection retain original Expertic Gahlenz labels, while this sailor orchestra retains a Viking Gift Inc. retail/import label.Each set is being offered separately, providing collectors the opportunity to acquire individual scenes or assemble a larger display from this carefully curated collection.

Offered here is a charming 13-piece sailor orchestra with the hand-painted musicians dressed in classic blue-and-white sailor uniforms. One of the harder-to-find sets that were made.  Includes guitarists, accordion players, brass musicians, a clarinet player, and seated performers, creating a lively nautical concert scene with a few duplicate poses.

Each figure stands approximately 2½ inches tall and displays the whimsical character and craftsmanship that have made Erzgebirge miniatures popular with collectors for generations. The group presents beautifully together and makes an eye-catching display for collectors of German folk art, maritime miniatures, Erzgebirge carvings, and vintage holiday villages.

Condition is excellent overall with bright original paint and strong display appeal. One horn player's instrument has a loss to the end of the bell, and front of one shoe missing. Otherwise, the figures appear to be in very well-preserved vintage condition.
