Up for sale is a beautiful and historic Austrian silver commemorative medal from 1902. This rare piece celebrates the marriage of Prince Otto von Windisch-Graetz and Archduchess Elisabeth Maria of Austria (the only child of Crown Prince Rudolf and granddaughter of Emperor Franz Joseph I).
- Obverse: Features the finely detailed jugate coats of arms of the house of Windisch-Graetz and the Austrian imperial family, surmounted by dual crowns and elegant drapery.
- Reverse: Bears the Latin inscription: "OTTO VERIANDVS PRINCEPS DE WINDISCHGRÆTZ / ELISABETHA MARIA ARCHIDVCISSA AVSTRIÆ / MDCCCCII XXIII·I·" commemorating their wedding date (January 23, 1902).
