The Ministry of Railways of the USSR (袦袪小) was created to manage and develop the country's transport system, in particular railway transport. It existed since 1923 and became one of the key departments of the Soviet Union, ensuring the transportation of goods, passengers and the coordination of transport flows.

袦袪小 played an important role during the period of industrialization, ensuring the transportation of building materials, raw materials and finished products. During World War II, railway workers were one of the main forces that ensured the delivery of military equipment, ammunition and food to the front.

袦袪小 employees wore special uniforms that emphasized their professional affiliation. Caps and other elements of the uniform were a symbol of discipline, responsibility and the importance of their work. Emblems such as a crossed hammer and wrench emphasized the technical nature of their activities.

With the collapse of the USSR, the Ministry ceased to exist, and its functions were transferred to newly created organizations in the independent states that emerged in place of the Union.
